Mothers’ Union members are involved in many aspects of family life. This includes doing what we can to support those who have suffered bereavement. We recognise that practical help and a listening ear is needed not just at the initial point of loss but also, and more often, as the time goes by and life has gone ‘back to normal’ for others.
We are sensitive to the fact that there is no one way that people react to bereavement and that needs and the timescale of mourning can vary enormously.
Many of our members are involved informally in supporting the bereaved in their local area. We are also involved in a new partnership initiative with Care for the Family.
